WattlePrep stores the information needed to run your study account, remember your learning and show your progress. This page describes the application’s current data handling.

If you study as a guest

Your answers, active test, completed attempts and chapter reading status are saved in this browser’s local storage. They are not uploaded to an account. Clearing browser data removes this history. Guest progress is specific to this browser and device.

If you create an account

Firebase Authentication handles your email, password and sign-in session, including Google sign-in when you choose it. Your optional name is stored with your account. Completed test snapshots, reading status and any premium entitlement are saved in Cloud Firestore. Scores are derived from your saved answers. Your password is handled by the authentication service, not stored as plain text by WattlePrep.

When you sign in, guest study progress from this browser is added to your account and synced. Once saved successfully, that guest copy is removed. Active tests remain on the device where they started. Records for one account are protected from other accounts by Firestore security rules.

Retention and your controls

Guest data remains until cleared. Account data remains until the account is deleted. You can export your study data and delete your account from account settings. Deleting an account removes its cloud attempts, reading status, role and entitlement. A deletion marker containing the account ID and deletion time prevents stale sessions from restoring deleted data. Infrastructure backups are governed by the hosting provider’s configured retention policy.

External services

If cloud accounts are configured, account and study data are sent to the site’s Firebase project. Fonts and illustrations are served by this site. Official resource links take you to the Department of Home Affairs website. External services have their own privacy practices.

Payments and analytics

The checkout is currently a placeholder: it does not collect payment card details, charge money or grant a paid entitlement. No advertising trackers or third-party analytics are included in this application. The hosting provider may keep standard security and request logs.

Study results are for your preparation only. They are not submitted to the Australian Government or used to assess a citizenship application. This is an unofficial resource.
