Questions before you start

Practical details about the test and this site.

How do I pass the citizenship test?+

You need at least 15 of the 20 questions correct (75%) AND all five Australian values questions correct. Even 19/20 is a fail if one values answer is wrong. You have 45 minutes.

What is the difference between a practice test and a topic quiz?+

A practice test has 20 questions, a 45-minute timer and the same pass rules as the citizenship test. A topic quiz has 10 questions from one part of the study material and no timer. Both use independently written practice questions, not questions from the actual test.

Do I need an account?+

No. You can study and take practice tests as a guest; progress is saved in this browser. An account lets you sync completed tests and reading progress across devices. Active tests stay on the device where you started them.

Is WattlePrep a government website?+

No. WattlePrep is an unofficial study resource, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Australian Government or Department of Home Affairs. You do not need to buy a study product to prepare.
